Baseball fans, players watch American Pharoah win Triple Crown (Big League Stew)

The wait is over. For the first time in 37 years, horse racing has a Triple Crown winner after American Pharoah quite literally ran away from the competition to win Saturday's 147th running of the Belmont Stakes in Elmont, New York.

How does that in any way translate to baseball you might ask? Well, it doesn't really.

Then again, our beloved game does have a cherished Triple Crown of its own — league batting, home run and RBI champion — which Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers won most recently in 2012.

Then there's Hall of Fame manager Joe Torre, who on Saturday gave up the "riders up" call moments before the historic race.
