ARLINGTON -- Add pinch-hitting to the list of impressive skills that Shohei Ohtani has showed proficiency in during his rookie season with the Angels.
Ohtani didn't start against Rangers left-hander Martin Perez in Saturday night's 11-7 win at Globe Life Park, but he came off the bench in the seventh inning and delivered the biggest blow of the game off reliever Eddie Butler. After Albert Pujols snapped a 6-6 tie with a go-ahead single to left field, Ohtani broke the game open by crushing a three-run, pinch-hit home run to straightaway center field to make it 10-6.
