As Billy Eppler works on the final tweaks to the Angels roster, he remains more focused on the outfield than the mound.
The Angels general manager said Monday there are “conversations going on (about pitchers) but it’s a little more idle than the extra position player.”
So far the Angels have plugged two of their lineup holes this winter by acquiring Cameron Maybin to play left and Danny Espinosa to play second. They also feel they improved their defense behind the plate by picking up catcher Martin Maldonado.
The final hole on the position player roster is a fourth outfielder, preferably one who can hit left-handed because Maybin hits right-handed.
