The Angels have agreed to terms on a minor-league deal with veteran reliever Neal Cotts, who could be the answer to their lefty specialist question in the bullpen.
Cotts, 36, was released by the Houston Astros late in spring training. The Angels will send him to Triple-A Salt Lake City for now. However, it’s unlikely he’ll stay there long if he’s pitching anywhere close to level he has for much of his career.
Cotts has a 3.96 ERA in parts of 10 years in the majors, including a 3.41 mark with the Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers last season.
