Angels reliever Huston Street out 3-4 weeks with strained back muscle

TEMPE, Ariz. – Angels relief pitcher Huston Street has a “Grade 1-plus” strain of his right latissimus dorsi muscle, General Manager Billy Eppler said Saturday. Street will not be allowed to throw for 3 to 4 weeks, leaving his readiness for Opening Day in jeopardy.

Street underwent an MRI exam on Friday, after he said he felt tightness in the area of his right armpit while pitching against the Milwaukee Brewers that afternoon. On Saturday morning, a doctor examined the results and diagnosed the strain between Grades 1 and 2, with 1 as the least severe and 3 as the most.
