ANAHEIM – Gamble? What gamble?
When Taylor Featherston took off toward home on a wild pitch that squirted only about 20 feet from the plate, he never for a split-second thought he might be out.
“You’ve got to believe in yourself,” Featherston said after his sprint home capped the Angels’ most dramatic victory of the season, a 4-3 decision over the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday afternoon. “You have to believe in what you see and what your eyes tell you and you’ve just got to run with it.”
That he did.
Featherston, who had entered as a pinch runner, came home with the third run of the inning for the Angels, who had scored only one run in the previous 22 innings.
