MINNEAPOLIS -- The Los Angeles Angels placed reserve outfielder Daniel Nava on the disabled list Saturday with tendinitis in his left knee.
Nava was hitting .286 through 14 at-bats in eight games this season. Angels manager Mike Scioscia says the knee gave Nava trouble in spring training before flaring up during L.A.'s series in Oakland this week. Nava pinch hit in the ninth inning of Friday night's loss at Minnesota.
Scioscia says Nava "went through pre-game and it just flared up a little bit, but he thought he could hit." He added because it keeps lingering, it's "something we need to take care of.
