The injuries just keep coming, this time to the Angels’ starting rotation. On Monday, the Angels placed starter Jose Quintana on the 10-day IL with left shoulder inflammation. In the move, they recalled José Quijada from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Quintana only threw three innings yesterday before he was pulled. This comes at the worst possible time, as he finally looked to be settling into a nice groove for the Angels. Over his last four starts, he’s posted a 3.78 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 16 innings of work. Prior to this stretch, he had an ERA of above 10 over his first five starts.
