The Angels made some more roster cuts on Sunday, with the most notable being outfielder Jo Adell, who last season was one of the top prospects in all of baseball. Adell was optioned, along with infielder Matt Thaiss and pitchers Kyle Keller and Jose Suarez.
The move doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as Adell was expected to begin the season in the minors. After he struggled in 2021, Adell will see every day playing time in the minors, where he likely wouldn’t have in the majors.
The Angels already had a lot of outfield depth, but they added even more this offseason, giving essentially no room for the young outfielder to have an every day role.
