TEMPE, Ariz. — The Angels continue to ease Tyler Skaggs back from Tommy John surgery.
Skaggs is slated to throw his third bullpen session of the last week on Wednesday, Manager Mike Scioscia said.
“We’ll see how he comes out of that,” Scioscia said. “He’s getting close.”
The left-hander, who underwent surgery to repair a ligament in his elbow 18 months ago, has not faced live hitters since pitching against the Baltimore Orioles in a game on July 31, 2014.
He could throw to hitters in live batting practice as soon as Friday, followed by a simulated game five days later.
