MINNEAPOLIS – Grant Green, who rejoined the Angels on Thursday after spending the past few days rehabbing a sore Achilles in Arizona, said he is 100 percent and ready to play.
Green said he got hurt during pregame work on Saturday.
Manager Mike Scioscia could use Green as an option at second base. The other two second basemen on the active roster, Taylor Featherston and Ryan Jackson, are better on the defensive side. Green at least gives the Angels the threat of more offense, even though he hadn’t been hitting lately.
If nothing else, Green gives the Angels another versatile player to use at second after he pinch-hits for Featherston or Jackson.
