TORONTO – Cam Bedrosian, who went on the disabled list, with tendinitis in his middle finger, is now facing a more serious issue.
A CT angiogram revealed that Bedrosian has a blood clot originating in his upper right arm, the Angels announced on Wednesday. Bedrosian will see a vascular specialist to determine the next step.
If Bedrosian needs surgery, which is not a foregone conclusion, it would end his season. The condition is not life- or career-threatening.
Former Angels pitcher Jason Vargas missed about six weeks in the middle of the 2013 season because of a similar issue.
