Angels nearing deal for OF Michael Saunders

The Angels are reportedly working on a deal to acquire outfielder Michael Saunders from the Toronto Blue Jays.

Although the Angels did not confirm the deal, according to reports the Angels would get Saunders in a three-way deal that would also include the Cincinnati Reds, who would send Jay Bruce to the Blue Jays.

The Angels would reportedly give up prospects, although not likely any of their top prospects.

Saunders, 29, is a career .230 hitter with a .301 on-base percentage.

A left-handed hitter, Saunders would presumably go into the Angels left field competition, along with Daniel Nava, Craig Gentry and Todd Cunningham.
