When the Angels superstar belted his 40th homer of the season in thefirst inning of Tuesday's game against the Houston Astros, he became just the second Angels player to reach that mark.
Troy Glaus hit at least 40 homers twice, clubbing 47 in 2000 and 41 in 2001. Trout's career high prior to this season was 36, in his MVP season last year.
Trout, 24, already became the first player since Alex Rodriguez (in 1998-99) to have back-to-back 35-homer seasons before his age 24 season.
After hitting just one homer in August, Trout has now hit seven in September.
