New York Yankees assistant general manager Billy Eppler, who was finalist for the Angels GM job four years ago, is on the list of candidates the club plans to interview for its current general manager opening.
The Angels haven’t yet contacted the Yankees to seek permission to speak to Eppler, but they plan to do so.
The Angels are expecting to have a new GM hired shortly after the regular season ends, at the latest. They have already begun conducting interviews with both internal and external candidates, the former group likely including assistant general managers Matt Klentak and Scott Servais.
