Angels' late rally falls short in loss to Giants

ANAHEIM -- Justin Upton sprinted in and to his left, tracking a Joe Panik line drive that lead off the third inning. The ball deflected off his glove. The misplay sparked a three-run Giants third inning, providing all the runs they and ace Johnny Cueto needed to put the Halos away in Sunday's rubber game, 4-2.

Upton's miscue had a 75 percent catch probability, according to Statcast™. Though it was ruled a single, it is the third ball Upton has missed that has had at least a 75 percent catch probability -- including one on April 13 with a 96 percent catch probability -- through his first 22 games.
