The Angels acquired infielder Jefry Marte from Detroit on Wednesday in exchange for infielder Kody Eaves.
Marte, 24, has hit .213 in 90 plate appearances in the major leagues. He has a career average of .259 with a .712 OPS in the minor leagues.
Marte mostly has played third base in the minors.
