Offense was sparse in this one with only 11 total hits an 4 runs scored. For their part, the Angels could only muster 4 hits and a single run in a game them sent them to 5 games below .500 - the worst record they’ve had yet this season. Not fun.
This loss came on the back of a quality start but Felix Pena - his longest of the season and career. He allowed only 3 runs over 6 innings but when your offense is absent, that quality start means little. Not fun.
Framber Valdez showed us once again that the Angels often seem to struggle against young rookie pitchers as he allowed just a single run on 2 hits over his 5 innings in his major league debut.
