Highlights from the Angels' 8-4 victory over the Dodgers on Friday:
AT THE PLATE: Angels catcher Geovany Soto hit a long three-run homer to left off Dodgers starter Zach Lee in the first inning. Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes hit a solo homer to left off Angels starter Nick Tropeano in the second, his second of the spring. Adrian Gonzalez hit his first homer, a solo shot to left-center off Angels left-hander Jose Alvarez in the third. Dodgers center fielder Joc Pederson had to leave after one inning for an appointment that Manager Dave Roberts described as "personal," but he made the most of his at-bat by singling, taking third on Corey Seager's single, and scoring on Yasiel Puig's double-play grounder.
