OAKLAND -- The A's saddled the Angels with their worst loss in franchise history on Thursday afternoon, rolling to a 21-3 victory to secure a series victory at the Coliseum.
Stephen Piscotty's three-run home run off Matt Shoemaker capped a five-run third inning for the A's, who then widened the gap by scoring seven runs in the fourth and six in the sixth against the Angels' bullpen. Catcher Francisco Arcia was summoned to pitch the bottom of the seventh and yielded back-to-back home runs to Nick Martini and Chad Pinder that extended Oakland's lead to 21-2.
