Angels considering Joe Maddon as manager, per Ken Rosenthal

According to Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic, the Angels are reportedly considering making a manager change and going with Joe Maddon.

Rosenthal writes, “According to major-league sources, the Angels would consider moving on from Brad Ausmus, 50, and bringing back Maddon, 65.”

Maddon was in the Angels organization under Mike Scioscia when the team won its only World Series in 2002. He has served as Angels manager on two occasions, in 1996 and 1999, for very short stints of fewer than thirty games each time. He managed the Tampa Bay Rays from 2006-2014 and has managed to Chicago Cubs, including to a World Series title, since 2015.
