The Angels claimed infielder Rey Navarro and left-handed relievers Rob Rasmussen and Bobby LaFramboise on waivers on Wednesday.
They outrighted right-hander A.J. Achter and released catcher Rafael Lopez in order to make room on the 40-man roster, which is now full.
Navarro, 26, can play second, third and shortstop. He is a career .264 hitter with a .687 OPS in the minors. The Angels are his fifth organization. He spent the past season with the Baltimore Orioles, including his major league debut. Navarro hit .276 with a .724 OPS in 30 major league plate appearances.
Navarro can provide the Angels some organizational depth in the middle infield.
