Angels' C.J. Cron sent to minors in hopes he can regain his rhythm at plate

Legendary broadcaster Dick Enberg thanks the crowd at Angel Stadium while being honored during pre-game activities Tuesday night.

ANAHEIM – C.J. Cron hadn’t notched an extra-base hit in a month and hadn’t walked in five weeks. To find the swing he long ago lost, the Angels sent him down to Triple-A Salt Lake, temporarily replacing him with utilityman Grant Green.

Green didn’t start Tuesday. Angels manager Mike Scioscia said his role won't be noticeably different than it’s been in previous stints, which indicates he won’t play much at all.
