ANAHEIM -- One day after optioning A.J. Achter, the Angels called up another reliever, Deolis Guerra, from Triple-A Salt Lake.
“Right now, he’s a guy showing he has a major-league arm, and he’s showing he’s made some adjustments to come up and hopefully give our bullpen a little bit of a boost,” Angels manager Mike Scioscia said.
Guerra, 27, has pitched five scoreless innings in three games this season.
He did not pitch in a game until early May, as he was out for a few weeks after undergoing an emergency appendectomy in the final week of spring training.
