The Angels on Friday avoided arbitration with Hector Santiago, inking him to a $5 million deal for 2016.
Santiago, 28, is coming of an All-Star season in which he went 9-9 with a 3.59 ERA. Santiago made $2.29 million in 2015. He has one more season in which he's arbitration eligible before free agency.
The Angels have three other arbitration-eligible players: Kole Calhoun, Garrett Richards and Fernando Salas.
Players and teams are due to exchange figures next Friday.
