HOUSTON – Although fans are more likely to see it this way than those in the Angels clubhouse, the Angels may have lost twice to the Houston Astros on Thursday.
First, the Astros trumped the Angels with the biggest trading deadline salvo of the American League West race, and then they beat them, 3-0, on Jason Castro’s walk-off homer to complete a three-game sweep.
After the Astros acquired All-Star center fielder Carlos Gomez and pitcher Mike Fiers from the Milwaukee Brewers for four prospects, they won a game behind the pitching of Scott Kazmir, who was their big acquisition from last week.
