The Los Angeles Angels reinstated infielder Luis Rengifo from the 10-day injured list on Thursday and acquired right-hander Roansy Contreras in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to multiple reports.
Rengifo, 27, had been sidelined with a viral illness that resulted in painful blisters on his feet.
He is batting .330 with two homers, 11 RBIs and nine steals in 28 games this season, his sixth with the Angels.
Rengifo is a career .249 hitter with 49 homers, 168 RBIs and 27 stolen bases in 476 games since his 2019 debut.
