According to Fox Sports MLB reporter Ken Rosenthal, the Los Angeles Angels have traded CF Peter Bourjos to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for 3B David Freese.
Freese wasn't at his best in 2013, hitting just six home runs with 53 RBI in 138 games. A NLCS and World Series MVP in 2011, Freese hasn't reached those heights since, and a change of scenery could be what he needs to return to form.
The Angels have a surplus of heavy hitters in the outfield, which has made Bourjos expendable.
In addition to Bourjos and Freese, outfielder Randal Grichuk also heads to St. Louis from LA, and P Fernando Salas is headed to Los Angeles in the other direction.
