In today's Angels rumors and news update, the Los Angeles Angels could end up as one of the top suitors for Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price before the July 31st MLB trade deadline.
Here's Andrew Zuber of The Score with his take on a potential Price deal for the Halos:
Stuck in a division with the stingy Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners, Price would go a long way to providing another stellar arm to place alongside veteran Jered Weaver and the blossoming Garrett Richards.
After opening the wallet to sign Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols a few short seasons ago, there is little question that the Halos wouldn't hesitate to ante up and give Price a luxurious contract if he comes aboard.
The Los Angeles Angels could have a tough time putting together a suitable trade package for Price without mortgaging some of the team's prime young talent.
However, with the Angels just 1.5 games behind the A's for the AL West lead heading into the season's second half, a Price deal could be the perfect answer to Oakland's earlier trade for Chicago's Jeff Samardzija and Jason Hammel.
