We're less than three weeks away from the 2015 MLB trade deadline, which means there are plenty of rumors swirling around the Los Angeles Angels and what they might do on the trade market. Here are three trades they could make by the deadline:
Trade prospects, draft picks to San Diego for James Shields
The Padres have asked teams about any possible interest in James Shields, according to Peter Gammons of GammonsDaily.com. If that's the case, Shields suddenly becomes arguably the best pitcher on the market, drawing the interest of an Angels team in need of starting pitching.
Los Angeles doesn't want to give up any talented players currently on their roster, meaning they'll have to give up a ton of future assets, but the Angels think grabbing a true No. 1 pitcher could put them over the top.
Trade several prospects to Oakland for Josh Reddick
The Angels and A's have already had conversations about dealing for Josh Reddick, though it's going to take a hefty offer for Oakland to part ways with Reddick. Los Angeles would likely have to give up two or three of their top prospects, but the addition of Reddick would make them favorites in the American League.
Trade one prospect to Astros for L.J. Hoes
Houston is aggressively shopping Hoes, who would give the Angels some immediate help and depth in the outfield. This isn't a big name acquisition, but is the more likely move because they wouldn't have to give up a whole lot to get a player that will give them some significant help.
