The Los Angeles Angels have been pegged as a true championship contender all season, but there's something different about this team that tells us they'll be able to get it done this year. Here are 3 reasons why the Los Angeles Angels can win the World Series this year:
1) Depth Everywhere
The Washington Nationals were celebrated prior to the season by most as the deepest squad from 1 to 25 in all baseball. That's all hype. There is no squad in all of baseball with more legit lineup and pitching depth up and down the board than the Los Angeles Dodgers. Manager Don Mattingly can mix and match his lineup at will to build around all-world slugger Adrian Gonzalez, and that's a heck of a luxury to have.
2) Who's Going To Stop Them?
The Astros are unproven, the Royals' offense likes to play hide and seek, the Blue Jays have the stink of impending disaster wafting off of them for some reason and we're not buying into the Yankees or Orioles squads holding down the fort all the way into the fall. The door is wide open for them in the American League, and the Angels plan to take advantage.
3) Mike Trout
One player can only have so much impact on the field, but if there's one person who can carry their team through the postseason, it's Trout. The reigning MVP is dominant in every aspect of the game, and his leadership often raises the play of his teammates. He also steps up when the Angels need it most, which will pay dividends down the stretch and in the postseason.
