Liverpool have been urged by Jamie Redknapp not to spend big on a centre back for the sake of it despite their injury crisis.

Injuries are seriously mounting up in defence for Jurgen Klopp's reigning Premier League champions after Joe Gomez joined Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho on the sidelines.

Gomez fears he will miss the rest of the season and next summer's Euros after suffering a serious knee injury in England training on Wednesday.
