Jermaine Pennant has split from his wife Alice Goodwin after nine years together.
Alice confirmed the news on her Instagram stories on Friday, stating the couple 'couldn't make it work'.
In a heartfelt and lengthy statement, the 34-year-old model explained how the pair had suffered 'ups and downs', and added that they explored 'all avenues' in a bid to make their marriage work.
It comes as the former Liverpool wingers apologised for his 'below par performance' after being removed from Sky Sports News' transfer talk segment on in January with fans on Twitter suggesting he was drunk.
