Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk insists he can handle the pressure that comes with his £75million price tag despite a mixed start to life at Anfield.

The Holland international swapped Southampton for Liverpool last month, ending a long-running transfer saga and becoming the world's most expensive defender.

But after scoring Liverpool's winner against Everton on his debut in the FA Cup, Van Dijk suffered losses to Swansea City in the Premier League and West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup in his next two outings.

And on Sunday, he conceded a contentious stoppage time penalty coverted by Harry Kane as Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Tottenham Hotspur.
