Lee Bowyer has expressed his regret at deciding against joining Liverpool from Leeds in 2002.
Bowyer had frequently impressed for Leeds and caught the attention of Liverpool.
The former midfielder went as far as starting a medical ahead of his proposed move to Anfield but called the move off as it 'didn't feel right'.
Bowyer, who currently manages Charlton, now laments his decision not to join Liverpool.
'I was very close [to joining Liverpool],' Bowyer told Sky Sports' Monday Night Football. 'I was halfway through a medical.
"It just didn't feel right for me at the time, and if I'm honest that's probably my biggest regret in football not going to Liverpool at that time.
