Steven Gerrard was known for his no-holds-barred leadership on the pitch but is willing to bide his time in a bid to become a top level manager.
The former Liverpool midfielder accepts his inexperience and shortcomings when it comes to management and understands there is a steep learning curve.
In his punditry role for BT Sport he said: 'You learn the good and the bad off senior players, you get close to them – and, when you are ready, you dislodge them – that's when you move in.
'I don't see management as being much different.
