Schalke 0-3 RB Leipzig: Visitors narrow gap to Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich down to seven points as they begin to hit form ahead of upcoming Champions League test against Liverpool

RB Leipzig strolled past crisis club Schalke 3-0 to retain second spot in the Bundesliga table and keep alive their title hopes.

Julian Nagelsmann's side had to wait until stoppage time in the first half to open the scoring through Nordi Mukiele, before Marcel Sabitzer and then Willi Orban wrapped up the points in the second period.

The win leaves them seven points behind Bayern Munich in the table, while the home outfit are cut adrift nine points from safety at the bottom.

Leipzig will be bouyed by their recent form having won three games in a row in all competitions as they prepare to host Liverpool in the last-16 of the Champions League in 10 days time.
