The full rankings of the FIFPro World XI were released this afternoon with the most eye-catching surprise being Lionel Messi's position as the No 1 forward ahead of The Best FIFA Men's Player Winner Robert Lewandowski.
The Bayern Munich striker won the main prize on Thursday but was not ranked as the best forward, while Manchester City maestro Kevin De Bruyne was voted as the No 1 midfielder.
In defence, Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos pipped Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk but Reds shot-stopper Alisson was the No 1 goalkeeper, above Manuel Neuer and Jan Oblak.
