PLAYER RATINGS: Virgil van Dijk led by example and Caoimhin Kellher made two seismic saves - but which forward struggled to offer a threat up front as Liverpool beat Chelsea 1-0 in Carabao Cup final

Virgil van Dijk secured the latest of late wins for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, heading home in the 118th minute of the game to sink Chelsea and hand the Reds a first piece of silverware for the season.

It was an incident-packed clash between the two sides, with both Chelsea and Liverpool seeing goals scrubbed off for offside either side of half-time in a pulsating encounter.

Raheem Sterling and Van Dijk fell afoul of the technology, with Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer also seeing their efforts denied by the woodwork and Caoimhin Kelleher respectively.
