Newcastle are 'set to offer Anthony Gordon a new contract when he returns from holiday' - as they look to ward off interest from Liverpool in the former Everton star

Newcastle are set to offer Anthony Gordon a new contract amid recent speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, according to a report.

The winger enjoyed a stunning campaign last term and ended the season with 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 Premier League outings.

Gordon's form for the Magpies saw him earn a spot in Gareth Southgate's England squad that reached the final of the European Championship, though he was only afforded a solitary minute during the side's run.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle are keen to reward the 23-year-old for his performances and will begin contract talks when he returns from his summer break next week.
