Monaco have agreed a deal to sign Liverpool midfielder Takumi Minamino for £15.5million.
Reports had suggested Atalanta were also interested in the Japan international - who has struggled for regular first-team action under Jurgen Klopp - while Sportsmail reported interest from Wolves and Fulham earlier this month.
But Sportsmail understands Ligue 1 side Monaco - who have just seen Cesc Fabregas depart - are now in the driving seat after agreeing an initial £12.9m fee plus a further £2.6m in add-ons with the Reds.
The Athletic claim the 27-year-old has also agreed personal terms with the French outfit, but that a medical is still to be completed because the player is still in Japan.
