Salah was considered a major doubt for his country's opening Group A clash against Uruguay having injured his shoulder during the Reds' Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid almost three weeks ago.
However, the player – who celebrates his 26th birthday on Friday – has been undergoing intense rehabilitation to prove his fitness.
And now Egypt coach Hector Cuper has revealed it will be up to Salah himself to declare if he is confident enough to face Uruguay and their former Liverpool forward Luis Suarez.
“I can almost 100 per cent say he will play, save for any unforeseen factors at the last minute,” said Cuper at a pre-match media conference.
