Mohamed Salah was on the end of a remarkable turnaround from a Djibouti player after scoring four times against the African minnows in World Cup qualifyng.
The Liverpool star took his international tally to 55 as the Pharaohs began their campaign with a commanding 6-0 victory.
However, Salah, who is now just 13 goals behind the all-time Egyptian record, showed his serious side earlier in the game when squaring up to Djibouti defender Moussa Hamadou.
The pair had to be separated by referee Jelly Chavane after the centre-half pushed the Egypt skipper and sparked a reaction.
