MK Dons job was 'too soon' admits Steven Gerrard

The Liverpool legend is weighing up his options after ending an 18-month stay with MLS side LA Galaxy in the United States.

It emerged last week Gerrard had held talks with League One side MK Dons over the vacant managerial role after Karl Robinson left the club.

However, the 36-year-old turned down the chance to take over and, speaking on BT Sport this evening, shed light on his decision.

“I'm just taking a bit of time to consider what's next, exciting times moving forward,” said Gerrard.

“I spoke to MK Dons. I had a chat with the chairman, it's a very exciting job for somebody else but it's a bit soon for me.
