Liverpool U23s lost their first game of the Premier League Cup this season, after falling to a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Stoke City.
The Reds levelled through a Lloyd Jones header after Stoke took an early lead in the game, and Danny Ings scored a brace, but it wasn't enough for Neil Critchley's side at Chester FC this afternoon.
With the U23s playing in the Premier League International Cup last Tuesday, Neil Critchley made four changes to his side that lost to Sparta Prague.
That meant a recall for striker Rhian Brewster who was rested midweek, while Cameron Brannagan was restored to the midfield and Corey Whelan returned to captain the side.
