Manchester United take on Hull City in EFL Cup semi-final while Liverpool face Southampton after draw

Manchester United have been drawn against Hull City for the semi-final stage of the EFL Cup.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will take on Southampton in the other semi-final tie. The ties, which are decided over two legs, take place in January.

Both Jurgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho are looking to win their first major trophies with their new sides and the EFL Cup will provide the first real opportunity of the season, with the final to take place in February.

Liverpool were the first team to progress to the semi-final stage of the League Cup with a 2-0 victory against Championship side Leeds.
