Man City 'make a private apology to Hillsborough Survivors group' after fans mocked the 1989 disaster with vile chants during Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Liverpool... despite not yet making any public comment

Manchester City have apologised after a section of their supporters sung despicable chants about the Hillsborough disaster during their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Away fans were filmed labelling Liverpool supporters as 'murderers' in a clash that was marred by off-field incidents.

City boss Pep Guardiola also said Liverpool fans threw coins at him, while the Etihad club claimed their team bus was damaged when they departed from the ground.

And City have taken action, promising to punish any supporters they find to have been guilty of singing the vile chants.
