Loris Karius believes Liverpool have enough quality to cope without Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius insists a potentially long-term injury to Philippe Coutinho won't derail the Reds in the run-up to Christmas.

Coutinho, who has been in magnificent form at the start of the new Premier League season, was carried off on a stretcher during Liverpool's 2-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday.

Liverpool fear the Brazilian has suffered serious ankle ligament damage in a challenge with Didier Ndong but the true extent of the injury will only be known after the midfielder undergoes a scan on Monday.

Coutinho's replacement at the weekend, Divock Origi, came off the bench to break the deadlock against the Black Cats and Karius believes it is that level of squad depth which will help the Reds overcome the Brazilian's potential absence this winter.
