Former Liverpool midfielder Ben Woodburn, the youngest goalscorer in the club's history, has joined League Two club Salford.

Woodburn scored on his second Reds appearance against Leeds aged 17 years and 45 days in 2016 but left Anfield in 2022.

The young midfielder broke Michael Owen's record, which had stood since 1997, to become Liverpool's youngest goalscorer.

However, he was unable to earn consistent first-team football and went out on four loans before being let go.

Now 24, he has spent the last two seasons with Preston but fell into a bit-part role in the 2023-24 campaign and was released this summer.
