Liverpool's star players 'need to take responsibility' for poor performances after struggling against Brighton, says Alan Shearer... who insists Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah haven't 'been good enough' for the Reds

Alan Shearer has called on Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and a number of Liverpool players 'to take responsibility' for their poor run of form in recent weeks.

The Reds have had a rocky start to the season and that continued as they were held to a 3-3 draw with Brighton on Saturday, after Leandro Trossard scored a late equaliser for the Seagulls.

And, with player's such as Trent Alexander-Arnold being heavily criticised recently, Shearer claims that there are 'others' who 'haven't been good enough'.

Speaking on BBC's Match of the Day, Shearer said: 'Liverpool looked very leggy, lethargic and tired.
